MKS CD NEMA23/34 stepper motor driver extended board
Perfect matchers: 4.5A large motor driver MKS TB6600 and MKS-Gen controller.
In the market, NEMA 17 stepper motor in 3d printers are connected to mainboard directly. The current of each interface might not be exceed 2mA.
Some customers might use NEMA23 or NEMA34 stepper motor. Some controllers have the signal output terminal, can output motor’s driving signal directly. A4988 and DRV8825 stepper driver are recommended. Some large current stepper driver are optocoupler isolate, its control signal current is very big to mainboard. In this case we do not recommend to use A4988 and DRV8825 stepper driver.
Regular NEMA23 and NEMA34 stepper motor driver input are optocoupler isolate, mainly for protection and anti-interference. Each driver have three input. EN port is for control motor on/off switch. PUL impulse port is for control motor moving position or speed. DIR port is for control motor moving direction. Regular optocoupler port driving current is about 10mA. One driver drive one motor. One driver need to consume 30mA control current at most, X,Y,Z,E connect to 4 regular NEMA23 or NEMA34 stepper motor total needs about 100mA current. In this case, if connect the wire directly and not enlarge the circuit, the 3d printer controller/mainboard might be burned.
MKS CD extended board can enlarge control signal, relieve pressure from optocoupler isolated large stepper driver to main IC.
Insert MKS CD board to driver interface, control signal is from top white bayonet socket. Please pay attention to the direction.
